David Cross on Conservatives (via murderd2death)
Yup. 100%. I’d add, don’t mention to conservatives that corporations are running the show, and definitely do not imply that capitalism might not be so great.

Uni-Tea reached out the hand of tea party acceptance to young people, too — in the form of white conservative rapper Hi-Caliber and a band of veterans called The Bangers. “This reaches out to the 18-34 year-olds,” organizer Jeffrey Weingarten said. It should be noted that Weingarten was successful in getting at least one 18-34 year-old to join him for the day: his son, Freedom Weingarten.

There’s no racism in the Tea Party. They don’t have racist signs.

Bigoted [Ex-] Tea Party Leader Mark Williams: ‘Tea Party Racism Impossible”
Even though Mark Williams has since been kicked out of the Tea Party over the inflammatory blog post he wrote, you’ll be hearing that argument a lot. But ThinkProgress reminds us why its wrong:
“Of course, as ThinkProgress has documented, Williams needs to look no farther than himself to know that it is not “impossible” for the tea party movement to contain racist elements. Moreover, William’s pathetic attempt to dismiss every single example of tea party racism as the work of Crash the Party is complete nonsense. If he took his own advice and googled Crash the Tea Party, he would see that the group didn’t even exist until April of this year — a year after racist and bigoted signs began appearing at tea party rallies. Beyond this, the counter-protesters never really materialized, and basic common sense should tell Williams that the group couldn’t possibly be responsible for every single racist sign.”—Think Progress
